		<description>by  Jim Weckback, W1EQWThe FARA W1FY banner was on display on Saturday May 15 at Upton State Forest in Upton Massachusetts.  FARA was invited  by The Friends of Upton State Forest to set up a ham radio station to help celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the opening of CCC Camp SP25 which was opened in 1935.  The Civilian Conservation Corps was started in 1933 as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt&amp;#39;s New Deal in which the objective was to give jobs to out-of-work men and stimulate the economy during The Great Depression.  Many of the camps used ham radio for communications.(click here for photos)</description>

Enter through the front door on Union Ave. and the room is to the left.  All area hams and those not yet licensed but interested in amateur radio are welcome to attend. Saturday Shack Opening   The FARA shack is open every Saturday Mornings from 9 AM till noon. The club shack is in the basement of the Danforth Museum building (use Lexington Street entrance next to the public library parking area). It&amp;#39;s a great opportunity to meet with fellow hams and brush up your on air skills (CW, SSB, VHF) and learn about other modes like PSK31, Data Packet, and IRLP. FARA Sunday Night NET   The FARA Sunday Night Net begins every Sunday at 07:30PM on the FARA 147.150 MHz (no PL) repeater. All licensed hams are welcome to check in and participate in the  Ham question of the Week .      </description>
